Dr. Harley Mosely III s a Rehabilitation specialist with a private practice and also works at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. His address focused on what is Multiple Sclerosis (MS), the symptoms and treatments. MS is a Neurological Conditional that affects the Brain and Spinal Cord. When the Spinal Cord is damaged it slows down the speed at which messages sent from the brain to other parts of the body reaches its destination, and as a result a MS patient is generally slower than someone without MS. MS also affects the eyes, the memory, the bladder, the memory, your coordination ect. There are several types of treatments for MS, here are a few of them. Therapy, Acupuncture, Hypnosis, psychotherapy, surgery, Medication, cannabis. There’s a stimulator that can be used on the tummy which helps a patient to urinate if they are having difficulties. Bladder infections are common with MS, acidifying the urine by using a high portion of vitamin C will kill the bacteria that causes it.
Bowel problems is another area of concern, fiber and lots of fluids helps with constipation. Rectal Suppositories and Laxatives also helps. When it comes to memory lost, playing word games and other memory games helps. Make notes of things to do, shopping list will make life easier when going shopping.
Some people use nontraditional treatments such as medical Marijuana, It helps with spasticity The oils is used as a rub directly on the skin for pain. It is taken orally and in chewable forms. It is also smoked which is the fastest way of getting to the blood stream.
Dr. Mosely’s message was very educational and refreshing to our members.
